Remaking Tron?!

Seriously, wtf.

Although it looks pretty cool compared to the original , I can't help but shake my head at the continuing trend of remaking old movies.

In other news, I remain addicted to Battle Mode on Phantom Hourglass. And a pox on all who use the invincibility cheat code.

4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5. I'll tell you my first memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something I've always wondered about you.
8. I'll tell you my favorite thing about you.
9. I'll tell you my least favorite thing about you.
10. If you play, you MUST post this on yours. (Entirely up to you, I might add)

Oh, and here's the [link] to the Jello website. Fun, and informative! 8D

:bulletred:In a rare display of charity (for me), I am going to have TWO prizes up for grabs here: one for the actual 20,000, and another one for 20,002, because palindrome is on my list of favorite words. Get 'em while they're hot!

In other news:

I'm taking commissions!

Open!

Like so many other starving artists here on da, I too am in need of funds. My student loans need payin' off, and Sallie Mae is circling overhead like some bloated vulture, fat with the souls of countless students.

I'm staying optimistic, but while a lot of places say they're hiring, I have been less than fortunate with my job procuring.

Let's get down to the menu, shall we?

Delicious menu.

:bulletblack:CG Work
Sketches - $5
Lineart - $15
Basic Coloring - $20
Colored/Shaded - $35
Backgrounds - $5 - $10, depending on complexity

:bulletblack:Plushies
:bulletred: Unless you ask for another material specifically, plushies are 100% felt and hand-sewn. Prices depend, on size, complexity, special material requested, etc.

5-9 inches - $15
10-14 inches - $25
Shipping: Depends on your address. Count on an additional $5 or so.

Animation
This is a tricky category to price. Note me and we'll work something out.

:bulletblue:Payment and Other Info

:bulletred: I accept Paypal.

:bulletred: Your finished (watermark-free) piece will be delivered once I've received full payment.

:bulletred: If you are requesting a picture or plushie with a lot of detail, that will affect the price. Details = time and time = money, you know. :)

:bulletred: A rough watermarked sketch will be sent to you, so you can get an idea of the finished piece and notify me of any changes.

:bulletred: Once I begin working on the final piece, you may ask for more progress shots, but major changes (pose, costume changes, background) will need to be addressed in the rough sketch stage. I'll go so far as to say one major change is fine, but anything after that will cost. ...Now accepting Visa, small children, and limbs.

:target:What I Won't Do,
- Yaoi, yuri, shounen-ai, shoujo-ai.
- Anything either extremely sexually explicit or violent (i.e. gore) If you're unsure, just ask!

I always welcome a bit of challenge, so ... challenge me!

Somewhere, over the rainbow...

Gwah, what the heck is with this submission system. "Preview" now apparently means "submit." :iconotlplz: Anyway, moving right along...

"9" is going to be made into a full-length, Tim Burton-directed movie. Check it out! It looks wicked cool. I loved the original animated short, so this will definitely be a treat.

Apparently the trailer has been out since December, but this is the first I've heard of it. Coming to theaters 9/9/09! I see what they did there.

Meanwhile...
The job hunt continues! It has, in essence, become my full time job for the moment. For any other job hunters out there, I highly recommend you read "What Color is Your Parachute?" - an engaging, eye-opening guide to looking for work. It lays down the law on things like interviews, resumes, how to go about looking for work, and best of all, it's not dry and boring. (I picked mine up at the local Goodwill for like two bucks, yeahhh!)

And so, on that note, I also want to test the waters out there regarding commissions. I understand that a lot of us are in the same boat as far as finances (some in a boat with fewer leaks in it, perhaps...), but if I were to start taking on commissions, would there be anyone interested? I'm open as far as exactly what the commission is - plushie, drawing, or any other type of medium. Pricing would also be negotiable, to a degree.

Anyhow, let me know what you think, and I shall talk to you all next time, my dear hobbits!

SO DELICIOUS

Well, now that the August birthday rush has settled, I want to extend mega thanks to everyone who wished me well, heaped presents on me, and shared lolz with the rest of the crew at the b-day bash. :blowkiss:

Armed with giftcards and a determination of steel, I got a Nintendo DS, and have spent the last week playing Zelda: Phantom Hourglass ("Thanks, Kelli! ... It has sucked my life away..." ;w; ) I beat the main game - now to go back and find all the ship parts and gems, hohoho.

Also, unlocking Itachi on Naruto: Ninja Destiny (donated by my cousin who found it on a theatre floor) is like AN EXERCISE IN FRUSTRATION.

PORTABLE GAMES WHY MUST YOU BE SO DELICIOUS.

Also, my brief but rewarding time at Oakely with Cassie has come to an end, for the moment at least, so I'm on the prowl for jobz and moneyz. Gotta make them loan repayments soon, gosh darnit.

Those letters I keep getting in the mail from Sallie Mae make me feel like I have a rich, bloated aunt somewhere on the East Coast who sends me outwardly cheery mail with a threatening undertone.

I always get suspicious when the letter opens with a radiant "We at Sallie Mae are always here to help you, and to make your life of debt that much easier to bear!" Not the exact wording, but pretty close.

TRUE STORY.

Last year, my buddies took over the portfolio show with the amazing lantern tree of DOOM.

This time around, I'm going to be as epic as I possibly can. I'm not going to say much more, but I will say that if all goes as planned, my booth will be the one surrounded by a blanket of low-lying fog.

If there is anyone interested in the portfolio show, it's going to be held at Extreme Indoor Karting, from 1 pm to 3 pm.

1670 Sunflower Ave
Costa Mesa, CA 92626
